The world of site flipping has become a little more competitive. You can’t really argue that point. While demand for turnkey solutions remains high, there are more people than ever trying to sell sites to that crowd. At some point, word reached the masses that site flippers were raking in the big bucks. That naturally led to an influx of new players.

That increased level of competition makes it important for site flippers to do whatever it takes to stand out from the crowd and to justify more money for their offerings. Sometimes that takes the form of better design. It may involve the use of superior content. There are scores of things a flipper can do to distinguish himself or herself from the larger crowd.

One of the most effective techniques is to provide potential buyers with solid data and information about the site being sold. Your run-of-the-mill flippers may provide scant information, hoping the site will somehow “sell itself”, but the best in the business realize just how much difference supplying hard data can make.

What kind of information are we talking about? Basically, anything that gives the buyer a clear idea of the site’s strengths and potential value can be helpful. Here are just a few examples.

If the site has been monetized with Adsense or another contextual advertising option, the seller could provide buyers with data regarding CTR and the average vale of each ad click (or the eCPM). If the numbers look good, it will make the site extremely enticing to buyers.

If the site is monetized via its own product or affiliate links, CTR and subsequent conversion rates could dramatically improve the price one gets for the flip.

If you can share keyword data with potential buyers, that can make the site more attractive. That could even include providing full keyword reports upon purchase.

Breaking down the number of inbound links and important information about them can make buyers more interested in the property for sale.

Those are just a handful of options. A common theme runs through all of them--the more accurate, hard data you can give potential buyers, the better. People will be more likely to invest in a site if they have information in front of them that will allow them to assess potential long-term value. That can be true even in cases where the data isn’t “wow” good. Even “middle of the road” numbers can be helpful. They at least illustrate that the site does have the potential to generate revenue.

If you’re flipping sites, keep careful statistics and track everything you do. That data can be used as a very persuasive selling tool when it comes time to put sites on the market.
