Do you need to lose weight?

There is a incision-less Weight Loss Surgery procedure, also known as POSE (Primary Obesity Surgery, Endolumenal) which allows surgeons to decrease the size of the patient's stomach without making an incision on the outside of their body.

A non-surgical option awaiting FDA approval is the Endo-Barrier. This might be of interest for the obese and as well those with diabetes, type 2. This gastrointestinal liner is inserted through the patient's mouth and into the first two feet of the small intestine.

A gastric balloon might be ideal for patients with obesity problems who have tried already different ways to lose weight, but would prefer to avoid obesity surgery. A balloon will be inserted into the stomach and inflated. This reduces the stomach capacity and the amount of food a person can comfortably eat. A few countries have approved this procedure.
