Online buyers born after 1979 are more immersed in online and mobile activities than any other generation. Consumers' use of social media is altering the way they make purchase decisions. 85% of mentioned generation participate in social networking, and 57% have involvement with blogs.
Retailers and not just Internet marketers are incorporating social media, such as social networks and blogs, into their marketing strategies.
80% of the retailers are using one or more of the following three social networks: Facebook, MySpace and YouTube. Less then 20% are using other social networks. So it makes sense to have your page with your product offerings (or links to the product pages) at least in those three social networks. Design your personal pages optimal. Once you have your page(s) in, they will start working for you.
One way that consumers use social media is to share their customer care experiences with companies and brands. Don't underestimate the "word of mouth" of Social Networks!
